Title I School/Parent Compact for Educational Improvement
Parent/Guardian Agreement
School officials have informed me that my child is currently participating in a Title I Program at a Title I campus. I am agreeing to supervise all instructional activities at home. I will share all experiences offered to me by the Title I program. I want my child to achieve. Therefore, I will encourage him/her by doing the following:
- Assuring that my child is punctual and attends school regularly.
- Support the school in its efforts to maintain proper discipline.
- Establish a time for homework and review it on a daily basis.
- Provide a quiet well-lit place for study.
- Stay aware of what my child is learning and stay updated on the latest information on State assessments.
- Encourage my child’s efforts and be available for questions.
- Ensure that I read with my child and check for comprehension.
- Schedule regular conferences or stay in contact via e-mail with my child’s teacher to stay updated on his/her progress in school.
- Attend as many virtual events as possible to stay caught up with Scholar’s learning.
Scholar Agreement
It is important that I work to the best of my ability to prepare myself for graduation and college. Therefore, I shall strive to do the following:
- Attend school on a regular basis.
- Come to school each day with my required supplies.
- Complete and return all homework assignments and observe regular study hours.
- Respect myself and others at all times.
- Attend tutorials, if required, at all times.
- Follow all BISD scholar code of conduct rules and Homer Drive Elementary School guidelines in all areas.
Principal Agreement
I support this form of parental involvement. Therefore, I shall strive to do the following:
- Provide an environment that allows for positive communication between the teacher, parent, and scholar.
- Encourage teachers to assign work that will reinforce classroom instruction.
- Stay abreast on current trends in education on local, state, and national levels and share them with all involved parties.
- Ensure that my teachers are providing information about scholar progress.
